this type of turtle is called a soft back turtle. it is about 3 to 5 inches long including tale and is usually kept as a pet.
O.k that other person up there is wrong..This is a red bellied turtle.Or a mix of a red bellied turtle and a red eared slider..So there is the correct answer :D

My turtle also has yellow scales on his legs, and his shell is rounded green with 13 large plates, and multiple small plates, if I'm correct, I believe it's an American Box turtle Edit: It is a breed of American box turtle, but I found out from a book I read that it is a 3 toed box turtle.. ( they have 5 toes on the front i believe, but 3 in the back )
