PENGUINS ARE UNIQUE BECAUSE......THEY ARE FLIPPEN AWESOME AND UGHH SWEET AND GUESS WHAT?!?!?!?! THEY SWIM UNDER WATER AND DON'T FLY!!!!!! THAT'S SO COOL!!!

Penguins are birds, but they do not fly.

The only time they are in the air is when they leap out of the water to take a breath or get onto an ice floe, etc.

They spend as much as 75% of their time underwater.

Penguins have a layer of blubber under their feather to keep warm. Sometimes as many as 5,000 penguins will huddle together to stay warm. However, there are also penguins in the Galapagos islands who have to fluff their feathers to cool off!

When a penguin has a chick the female leaves to get food while the male keeps the egg warm under it's feet.

All penguins live in the Southern Hemisphere.
