You can put it out in spring and possibly receive a few visitors, but the best time is in the summer. Finches will continue to stop by until the very last days of good weather and then you will want to take it inside. Be careful about putting it out to soon. It's not a big deal but any bump or brush against the bag tends to knock seeds out. It'd be a sad situation to put one out too early, have them all fall to the ground, and have wasted your money.
Hmmm a strange question that i havent actually heard (in 5 years working in reptile industry). fI the sock is clean, and washed regularly, then i cant see a problem to be honest. Make sure there are no loose threads that he might catch himself on though.

Not only do hummingbirds pass through Texas during migration, many are there year-round.
I expect to see hummingbirds about the time our Columbine begins to bloom. (We live in central Indiana.) We set out feeders at that time on opposite sides of the house and in the same place every year. The hummers came right in under a new porch roof this year. We also plant flowers which hummers like near the feeders and around the yard. There has been an increase in numbers every year over the past several years.

The only bushes you can put in a finch, is either a ginger bush, or a brown freckled bush. Otherwise, the finch will choke on the bush, and die. So be careful what you choose.

You can put your hair in a bun using a sock in four easy steps. First, find a sock that's either ankle length, or mid-shin length. Second, grab a pair of scissors and cut off the part of the sock for the toes. Next, using the sock, put your hair up in a ponytail. The hair should go through the sock. Finally, tuck all your hair in the ponytail, under the sock. Use bobby pins to secure the bun.
