It's because you think in your head it is scary.
because you cant see anything in the dark, you dont kow what could be behind you.
Because you think there is someone going to jump out and scare you. If you are in your house and it is dark no one is there you are just imagining things and i am scared of the dark too but i just try to think that mum and dad are in the house so there is nothing to be afraid of. i know that no one is there i just think that. i hope this helps try to say to yourself no one is there mum and dad or who ever is in the house is with you so you know they will help you if something did happen which nothing will happen. hopefully. i hope this helps.

∙ 11y agoWhat you should do when you scared of the dark is keep the light on at the corner of the room. You could sleep with the curtains open, not draped, or sleep with someone and/or a toy/stuffed animal you are quite fond of. The best way to get rid of your fear of the dark is to stay close to light and if you are able to, make it dimmer every time you climb into bed. Also, a good tip to get rid of this particular fear is that you should be comfortable. If your brave enough, you can also face your fears and turn the light off completely.
