If the dog is not allowed the ability to leave the yard, he will not have the ability to defecate in your neighbor's lawn. In essence it is a dog collar with a small device that causes the dog some mild discomfort when he passes a boundary. This will discourage a dog from leaving your yard. A third option is to install a dog-run wire. You attatch the dog's leash to a roller that rolls along a guide wire, which keeps the dog in your yard and out of your neighbor's.
