England is very green because it rains nearly every day. Maybe half the countryside is pastureland with green grass. The other fields have crops like wheat, oats, barley, peas. In certain areas there are orchards, growing apples, Pears and plums. There is still some woodland, with broadleaved trees like oak and ash and elm and beech. In the north the hills are covered with heather (pink) and gorse (yellow). But the main strength of England is its variety. Everything changes during a 20 mile drive.
