Darwin believed and theorized that species competed for existence over many years and evolved to be what they are today. Species will battle for the fittest because they are on the food chain. For example, when a bear eats a fish the bear is ending the life of the fish and therefor the fish can't go on to reproduce and possibly evolve. The bear is also increasing his chance of living to reproduce by eating the fish. So, the species with the fittest genetics will most likely reproduce and pass on that genetics to the next generation. His explanation for the evolution of species was natural selection.
They thought the evolution of new species is linked to environmental changes
Darwin's explanation for the fact of evolution was better than Lamarck's explanation and fit the fact of evolution. Natural selection solved much of the species problem, but acquired characteristics did not have the empirical support and explained nothing in the end.
Prior to sailing on the Beagle, Darwin was yet to observe different species of animals and plants in different regions. The observations were valuable in conceptualizing evolution. Before the voyage, Darwin believed that species were confined to different geographical locations, but ideas of species adaptation and evolution were nonexistent.
Evolution is a change in species over time.
About 99.9% of all educated scientists. The field of biology could no longer progress without the understanding of evolution via natural selection.

no the theory of evolution is a species becoming more advanced not over populated
Darwins theory of evolution
Darwins theory of evolution :)
Charles Darwin is known for his studies aboard the HMS Beagle. He went all around the world to study different species and formed the theory of evolution.
Charles Darwin's wrote two books the first was called Charles Darwin's theory of evolution and the second was Charles Darwin's the origin of mammal

Charles Darwin studied birds, medicine, and theory of evolution.
Darwin's Theory of Evolution states that all species of organisms arise and develop through the natural selection of small, inherited variations that increase the individual's ability to compete, survive, and reproduce within their environment. Over time, this process leads to the gradual change and divergence of species.
