Sharks have razor-like scales on their skin; your hand may start bleeding if you touch it the wrong way.

ANS2:

Nurse sharks rather enjoy being stroked. They will stop swimming and lay on the bottom like a large, fat, wet cat. (Actually, they are a lot calmer than a wet cat.) Their scales are rough, like sandpaper, when stroked from tail to head but they don't cause any particular damage to your skin. When stroked from head to tail the scales are smooth and the skin feels like very smooth rubber.

Their scales may be sharp as razors but they are miniscule and so close together that the skin only feels rough.
