The hypothesis has been explored and in theory we could suffer "The butterfly Effect". See "related links" below.
At least that is one theory. What actually happens is we as a species lose any benefit the extinct species offered. Every creature has its uses, either food for another creature or a beneficial purpose to plants and crops. The bee that you swat today may have pollinated thousands of apple blossoms in its lifetime, thus you deny someone that benefit. The bat someone kills out of fear may someday have eaten the mosquito that carries the west Nile virus that makes someone in your family very sick. Every creature has a purpose. If we are truly the higher life form on earth it is up to us to protect all others.
You *should* try to save endangered animals. It is due to the interference of humans in their environment that they are endangered. They have a right to survive as much as we do. I would disagree that pine beetles have the same rights as a human. I just is not logical, but to say it is wrong to want to save endangered species is also foolish. Animals do not share the same rights as humans. That is demeaning to the human race. To say we should not save species from extinction is equally absurd. The HIV virus is a living being. That does not share the same right to exist as I do. I dont think they should be saved because we all have to die someday and maybe God feels like it would be their time to go so they are going extinct but i dont think people should just go out and kill poor innocent animals.
humans make the most extinctions. we make polutions and kill by just standing by to let others kill and we should stop that
the dark rice rat is critically endangered, possibly extinct because their habitat is being taking over and destroyed by humans.
The human responsibility towards animals are protecting, proper treatment, and respect. Many animals are now becoming extinct with humans to blame. Humans are now in debt to these animals to conserve the species.
its not extinct and it not endangered it just is habitat is being destroyed and it could become endangered It isn't extinct but it IS endangered. In the 80's there were more concerns for the animal because it was being hunted for its fur. Now on the IUCN list its one of their least concerns. Their population is low in the US.
If it is not addressed then humans will be the only animals living.
because humans are destroying their ecosystems and the animals are eating stuff that has been tainted by our chemicals.
It is many reasons. But the most common reason is humans, who "hunts" animals. Many races in South-America and Africa have been extinct, because humans are burning down the forrest. Many animals are endangered, because humans are greedy.
Sadly, far too many animals in the Congo Basin are endangered by us obnoxious humans. Attempting to even begin to list the thousands of endangered species would be silly due the numerous animals.
Animals are endangered because humans are destroying their habitat, hunting them, etc... Humans are not endangered, yet. If all animals disappeared, humans would have very much trouble surviving.
Some People will think its Pollution and killing but the main cause is people Building on The animals Habitat
All animals depend on each other to live so all animals would die out including humans.
Humans are the answer! humans caused more animals to go extinct than any other animal.
Habitat destruction is a main cause of animals become endangered or extinct. What causes it is humans clearing the land for industry and natural disasters such as floods and fires.
Nothing would happen. Humans ARE animals.
Well, like most endangered animals by other animals and humans kills them and the young.
