There was no oxygen in the beginning. Plant life developed and released oxygen gas into the atmosphere over a long period of time.

If that had never happened, there would not be much if any free oxygen in the atmosphere and aminal life as we know it would never have developed.

What would plants and animals use the energy that was lost?

oxygen

Do all animals use the same amount of oxygen?

Animals use the amount of oxygen relative to their size. An elephant would need lots of oxygen, as it has larger muscles. Whereas a mouse has considerably smaller muscles, so it would require less oxygen.

If you woke up tomorrow and all of the animals on earth were gone what would happen to the amount of oxygen in the air?

if all the animals were gone there would be no carbon dioxide for plants and trees to take in and no oxygen would be produced.

What gas is needed by animals to breathe in?

Animals need AIR to breath in - AIR is made up of about 80% Nitrogen and 20% Oxygen. The animals use the Oxygen in the AIR.NOTE if an animal were to breath 100% Oxygen this would eventually kill it, Pure Oxygen is toxic. They need to breath AIR.

Why is photosynthesis so important to animals?

one of the ways in which photsynthesis is vital to animals is that CO2 is recycled into oxygen. Without this recycling process there would be less oxygen for animals to undertake respiration.

What will happen if there was no trees and plants?

There would be no oxygen therefore no humans or animals.

Can animals produce oxygen?

No, animals cannot produce oxygen. Plants, algae, and some bacteria are the primary producers of oxygen through the process of photosynthesis. Animals, including humans, rely on consuming oxygen produced by these organisms to survive.

What would happen if lily pads were removed from pond?

Why would animals die if plants didn't produce oxygen?

All animals depend on oxygen, because oxygen is needed for respiration and converting food to energy, and the by products will be carbon Dioxide (CO2) which plants use.

What would happen if all the oxygen in the air?

we all die lol Everything that needs oxygen would die. including us, animals, and plants.

Is it easier for humans in space than animals?

Humans ARE animals. All animals breath oxygen, so all animals would be in trouble in space (unprotected).
