The answer would have to be a matter of opinion as there are several different circumstances which have to be taken into account, such as the environment, the prey, if you would consider a human an animal, or even the unlucky if one is killed by accident. By accident, I refer to the possibility of being bitten by a Black Mamba on the foot as opposed to the throat or face. If bitten on the foot one would have a larger window to be saved, but if bitten on the face your chances drop dramatically. There are just too many factors to come to an absolute answer.

However, if you view the question merely in terms of the number of deaths as a result of an animal, mosquitoes are easily the most deadly animal in the world, being responsible for the deaths of around 2 million people a year through the transmission of malaria and the Yellow Fever in 1793.
