usually about 3 months, they need to be able to eat enough hay and grain to compensate for the amount of milk they are usd to consuming. Some goats are quicker than others and you will notice thes goats grazing more and might be able to wean them sooner, other kids seem to never want to give up the bottle or mom!

The rumen and its microflora have to develop and it is not recommended to wean at under 12 weeks of age.

when they are about 2 months i think but they do not wean them self

Goats go into heat around the late spring and very early summer... trust me... i would know. bbaaaaaaah!!!! ~sam is cool =P

Kids are normally weaned at 12 to 14 weeks of age and it can take a couple of days especially if the kids can still see and hear their mums and your fences are not secure.
