so...most people who are studying the origin of dogfighting believe it started in England. This knowledge is based on paintings of dogs that researchers believe look exactly like (old versions) of the modern day Pit-bull. The second reason to believe this is because Bullfighting started in England and it is very similar to dog-fighting. A dog was basically thrown into an enormous ring with a bull, and whoever died first lost. The spectators ranged from the homeless to royalty. I did a project teaching people about why dogfighting is wrong and why the penalties for the dog-fighters should be raised. So...if you have any more question i know of a few good sights that offer a lot of insightful info on the origin and general info.
