Dipping should be done early in the summer, May specifically. However I am not totally authorised to answer this question as I reside in Ireland. The bluebottle (distributor of the harmful larvae) dispenses it's larvae at different times according to temperature. The average temperature in Ireland in May is 18-20 degrees centigrade. So perhaps dip at a time when it would be the temperature in your country.
