Katniss got the money when she was hunting with gale and shot a large female deer gave most of it to the butcher for money (they got a couple of steaks out of it) and got the goat the butcher was going to buy but the goat was in terrible condition and it was not edible so Katniss got it and Prim and her mother went to work on her and she turned out great Prim named her Lady and slept with her in front of the fireplace
