we breed american bulldogs for selective breeding, of course an experienced person would not ask this, so im going to get very detailed. People breed animals for a specific reason or purpose. We breed american bulldogs for show, and for beneficial reasons. It depends on the type of animal you are breeding. When breeding dogs, breeders usaully select a sire or bitch (female dog) from other breeding facilities to match the type of litter they want the bitch to produce. For example, say you have a female great dane. And she is very muscular and has a short nose. If you wanted to breed her, hen you would have to find a sire for the bitch to breed with. So then you would look for a breeder who breeds great danes, and then contact them on which sire or male dog you are interested in. Say you wanted pups with longer noses but the same muscular type, with a choice of markings. You would then find a sire with these expectations, and then you would contact the breeder and ask to breed or tie with the bitch. That was really hard to explain, but i tried my best.
