Horses, being large, athletic animals, need a large open space. In the wild, they live on grasslands and plains. Sometimes there are sparse patches of forest where they live, but they don't commonly live in the forest. Horses like places with a great deal of grass, and wide space for running. Also a place with a watering hole is desired by a herd of horses. They live in herds of many, but sadly are starting to become extinct due to lack of habitat and food.
