Raccoons are usually secondary consumers.
Raccoons have a tendency to go after fat people. Don't be fat.
Raccoons travel in family groups of 4-6. It is uncommon to see groups of adult raccoons, however. If you are in a rural area it is very likely that if you see a raccoon it is with many raccoons usually traveling to a new destination not necessarily scavenging for food. When I go hunting i would say its 60/40 60 percent of the time i find raccoon's in group +4 and 40 percent of the time by themselves, but it is different in all situations.
'If raccoons go in garbage cans looking for food and come across some beans, i think it would taste them to see if he like them. but if he's hungry it won't matter much. He'll eat them.
Raccoons are generally nocturnal animals and sleep during the day. However, it is not unusual to see then abroad during daylight hours occasionally. This is especially true during seasons when food is scarce and the animals are forced to spend more time foraging for food.
Skunks actually don't "hibernate" like bears do. In the winter time, you will find many skunks sharing the same den. They may go out to hunt for food from time to time but they don't hibernate. They are just less active.

Raccoons DO find their own food. How else would they survive.
Raccoons are searching for discarded food. They have learned that, where there are human habitations, there is usually food. It is usually much easier than foraging for natural food in the wild.

Raccoons are present in communities because they are wild animals, and they are always looking for food. They go to neighbourhoods to garbage cans where people leave tracings of food that they didn't eat. If you see a raccoon in your backyard or something, don't scare the poor thing away! It's just looking for food. If you go outside and it runs at you, you run too. But if it runs away, it's a raccoon WITHOUT rabies, and a raccoon looking for food to feed him/herself, and their family. The raccoons steal the food, they have a black line across their eyes, and that why today, robbers wear a black mask to immitate raccoons. The raccoons didn't copy them!
