There wouldn't be one at the time because for a response it needs to have a stimulus, and it needs to know how to react to it. So, adaptation wouldn't work either because it takes long periods of time to adapt, and when reproducing is only when adaptations are passed on.

Sudden death of dodge ball?

First of all, why is this categorized as "animal life"? Nevermind! Alright, first i don't know what you mean by just saying sudden death of dodge-ball so please be more specific........ but what i think you're trying desperately to ask is "has there been any cases on sudden death by dodgeball" (I'm only acting like this because i am sick today and my father is an English teacher) Well, Dodge-ball has never been a fatal game. Some younger students get minor injuries. Nothing ever fatal! Where the hell do you get an idea like that? Hope this was a heathy lesson and the answer to your "almost" question.

The polysynaptic reflex arc is the sudden movement to protect life and lymb. An example usually given is walking in a shallow pond and stepping on a sharpt object: the foot immeidately raises before you are voluntarily aware of pending danger. It is more complex than the monosynaptic relex and include prolonged output from the spinal cord (as opposed to one sudden stretch reflex stimulus) and decision making processes ("am I in danger?" "am I hurt?").

Catastrophists studying geology must make the major speculation that geological events in the past were primarily the result of sudden and catastrophic events rather than slow and gradual processes.
