Infra-red waves are used in night vision apparatus.

Look at the animal's eyes. If they are in the front of the head (like man) they have stereoscopic vision. If they are on the sides of the head (like most birds) they don't.
A type of bird. (I think it's similar to a dove)
Great horned owls have the best eyesight ever.If you placed a newspaper on a chair, a Great Horned Owl could make out every word on that paper from 50 yards away. They can see almost that well in the dark. The sea animal with the best vision is the Mantis Shrimp, which can see in a broad spectrum of light that includes infrared and ultraviolet. In fact, humans could have the best the vision, why? Many animals have special types of vision, for example, eagles have extremely sharp vision, but lack color. Us humans have every single type of vision. Our cones in our eye, see color, eagles' cones aren't as adapted as ours. We can detect around 10 million colors, focus from Miles/km to inches in less than half a second, we have around 180 degrees of vision, sharper vision that a camera, we can see detail in a bright light, or even during night time. Not to mention around 30 frames a second, well that's a rough estimate, as some people can notice flickers of 1/200th of a second. Vision is very tricky, as I said before, eagles may have sharper vision, but us humans... we have it all!
Owls are a group of predatory birds who are active primarily at night. While there is great variation in coloration, size, feather type and shape and facial structures, there are some commonalities. First, they are all birds, which means they have two hindlimbs adapted to grasping prey and perches, two forelimbs that are wings, are covered in feathers, etc. Owls tend to have broad, thick wings relative to their body size that are densely covered in feathers to allow them to fly silently. They have large eyes on the front of their face with exception night vision.
Any animal whose eyes are on the sides of its head, is considered to have monocular vision. They can't see directly in front of them. Humans aren't monocular - we are BINOCULAR. Other animals, such as fish, birds (except owl) , lizard, rabbit, horse, deer are MONOCULAR.

Infra red radiation is the best. Usually living bodies would emit IR radiations which could be seen through IR spectroscope or telescope. Though IR are not visible to our eyes those can be recorded on suitable films.
Vision is not any type of energy. Vision can detect the visible range of the electromagnetic spectrum by the interaction of electromagnetic waves with chemical compounds; this interaction then results in electrical impulses being sent to the brain.
The "rod" type photoreceptors of the retina.
Methods are specific for each type of apparatus.

These type of cameras can range anywhere from $80 to a few hundred dollars
It depends on whether the night vision goggles are image intensifiers or the type that are sensitive to infra red. Only the infra red type can see warm objects through fog. Image intensifiers will not be able to see through fog at all.
You may want some night vision cameras. You could get regular if the area is lighted at night.
Its a type of appliance or machine. The guards had the apparatus of the past
