They are pretty much high maintenance animals and they are popular. They eat a lot, they can get hurt/sick and vet bills are VERY expensive (usually) and you have to pay for the land they live on i.e. boarding. oh ya and you have to pay for someone to take care of them so it all adds up and ends up being pretty expensive. not to mention the original cost of the horse and all the tack supplies

There is another side too. They are worth the money. People can receive comfort from them, and mometarilly get away from life's problems. They are a best friend. I don't care what people say about "Dog is man's best friend". A truly believe a horse is man, woman, and children's best friend.

Do cattle and horses need different kinds of fencing?

Cattle and horses usually have different fencing. Most cattle are fenced with barb wire or board fences or sometimes a combination of the two. Horses on the other hand need different fencing. The best for horses is wood or metal posts with a "no climb" wire so frisky horses can't get a hoof through the fence and mangle themselves. Although a 3 or 4 rail board fence looks attractive, a lot of horses will eat their way out of it in record time. Even horses that are well fed will chew a wood fence. The new PVC fencing is safe and non-edible but very expensive. Another alternative is galvanized pipe corral fencing. Its strong, attractive and expensive but lasts much longer than a wood fence. If you put horses in pipe corral fencing it is still a good idea to put the "no climb" wire on the inside. Horses can get a foot or even a head through the pipe corral and once again mangle themselves.

A farm had 35 cows if the ratio of cows to horses was 7 3 what is thw combined amount of cows and horses?

50 For the purpose of understanding it lets say for every truck with 7 cows in it, there was a truck with 3 horses in it. There were 35 cows, so 5 trucks (35 divided by 7 as 7 cows take up one truck) so 5 trucks each with 3 horses in them. That is 15 horses, and 35 added to 15 = 50

Why are breyer horses expensive?

Breyer horses are expensive because they are the highest quality Model horses on the line. They are made of a durable plastic, and use strong paint. They are also handmade, another thing that makes them so expensive! This may be a case of, you get what you pay for. However, there are ways to get the cost down. You'll find the best prices on the Internet. I recommend LookAGiftHorse.com, they have a membership program that really knocks the price down. Plus you can accumulate points for discounts on future purchases.Edit: Breyers are so expensive, for one thing, they are darn tootin' realistic, and also hand-painted. I belive the plastic is resin, maybe, 'cause that's what I heard.

What is the most expensive horse for sale?

The most expensive horse are probably jumpers or race horses. Horses that are one of the best in what they compete in are worth millions. I am talking like 30 million. Most of the expensive ones are racers, but if you have a jumper that was in the Olympics it can be worth quite a lot. Some people think that 20-30 grand for a horse is a lot, and for most people it is, but horses can get up there in price. The most expensive horse sold was 50 million.
