Why are lions good predators?

They are good predators, however, it is rare for them to be successful each time they hunt. They stand a chance of catching only 1 animal in 3 hunts. They have good eyesight at night, which helps them prowl around their prey. Since they don't run as fast as cheetahs, they tend to get as close as possible to their prey and dart out. They kill their prey by grasping their powerful jaws tightly in their prey's throat, reaching the air pipe and suffocating them. Lions are at the top of the food chain in Africa, so they don't need to fear any predators.
Lions' main virtue is that they hunt in packs. They make sure they always outnumber their prey, and they try to find weak prey who can't fight back.

In short, lions are good predators because they are SMART.
