They both are mammals, and members of the cat family. Lions hunt in groups to bring down prey much larger than themselves, while most cat species will hunt alone - usually hunting prey equal or smaller than themselves. Domestic cats usually hunt mice, rats, birds, frogs and even rabbits. Human owners feed domestic cats pre-cooked meat and biscuits.

Aside from size, there isn't many differences between a cat and a lion. Both are strict carnivores, so have the same type of teeth for killing prey and eating meat, organs and bone. Both hunt in the same way: Creeping up to its prey then pouncing, holding it down with strong muscles. Both have retractable claws.
