red belly Blake snaxe, viper,scarlet,and the annaconda are poisonous and pythons and boas are not.

Edit: It's just how they have evolved over many years. Snakes such as the sea Kraite uses venom - because they need to subdue their food VERY quickly. Constriction takes time, and would be useless to a sea-dwelling snake.

Btw - an 'annaconda' (as the first person wrote) - is a CONSTRICTOR - NOT a venomous snake !
