It is scientifically proven that animals do infact need food to survive, and the food they eat is what gives them energy to grow and develop into adults. They need food to build up there body to feed there baby animals. Food is a necessity and the animal would only live for a couple weeks without food.

These can come from other animals, fish, plants, depending on what that animal needs to live. These nutrients are not found in other things, making it needed for them to feed on other living things.
