All cats will attack if they feel "threatened". but it depends on the cat's temperament and environment he grew up as to how much would fall into "threatening" category.

Other Answers:

  • They might not like each other.
  • one cat does not feel comfortable with the other cat.
  • There are several possible reasons for cat-on-cat attacks. Assuming that the attacking cat isn't kidding, one likely possibility is territorial (dominance) issues. Only one cat can be in charge of a territory (the boss). There will be many scuffles until one submits to the other. Then there will be little maintenance scuffles, much milder and less frequent. Over time they may even become pretty good friends. Domestic cat attacks upon humans is extremely rare. Although mock attacks (playing, play-hunting) happen all the time. These are not really attacks, just cats being cats.

Why do cats attack feet?

Kitten play always involves mock battles, with surprise attacks, pounces, and leaps. The kitty is basically trying to play, as he would with another cat. Direct him to less painful game play - chasing balls, cords, and so on.
