if you are talking about how dogs turn in circles on there beds before lying down, it is because it is a habit that their ancestors used before dogs were even domesticated. ancient wild dogs would continually circle around their picked spot to press down grass or dirt with their paws, making a more comfortable bed. this genetic memory was passed down even through domestication all the way to your dog.

Cats use their paws for many things. The most well known thing that cats do with their paws is clean themselves. Since they can't reach places like behind their head, they lick their paws and swipe it over the area they want to clean. Cats also use their paws somethimes while playing. Some cats catch, and when they chase something, they often use their paws and mouth to catch it.

Cat knead when they are kittens and they need to knead the milk from their mothers stomachs, aslo when cats mate, they male will usually knead the female. When adult altered (fixed) cat kneads it usually is a sign of excitement, anxiety, comfort, and/or happiness.

Usually because they are relaxed and in a good mood.

For example, when they are being pet they tend to have habits like that, it is just their way of relaxing.

All cats clench or knead their paws. There are a variety of theories as to why they engage in this behavior, but many believe that this is a comforting behavior that is instinctive to them.

If they do it to you it's a form of affection. They d it to you because you pet them so they want to show affection too.
