Cats are actually quite sociable, in their own unique way.Unlike for instance a dog there has been little benefit for cats to establish a complex social system. With the exception of male cheetas and lions, cats are solitary hunters. It is true that they can be found in loose social groups where food is obundant but throughout their evolution there has been little upside to being social.Additionally, humans for the most part do a poor job when it comes to noticing cats subtle communication. Cats for the most part communicate through body language. Head butting, body positioning, tail positioning and rubbing are all important signals most humans don't know or pay propper attention to. Additionally, humans do many things naturally that are off-putting to cats, such as direct eye contact. If you have multiple cats in your house watch the ways in which they interact. Most times one cat is not completley dominant, rather they share the favorite sleeping spot throughout the day.

What do cats do when they feel upset?

Well, usually cat's only get mad when there is someone around. They don't usually get mad from nothing. But, let's say if they would be mad at a floating speck or something, they would hiss and growl. They might take their stress out on your couch or anything scratchable. Usually then they would just run and hide afterwards if no one is around. Because they're mad. But they hardly get mad for nothing.

Are all cats aggressive towards other cats at some point and if so why?

Not all cats are aggressive towards other cats. Aggression in cats can be due to factors such as fear, territorial disputes, or redirection of negative emotions. Proper socialization and providing enough resources like food, water, and litter boxes can help prevent aggressive behaviors in cats.

Is a cats purring voluntary or involuntary?

A cat purrs when it is happy, which usually happens when they are shown affection. Depending of the personality of the cat, they will voluntarily purr when they are, for instance, being pet, so they are happy. Some cats that like their solitude, will often run away after a minute, or might just run away the minute they come in contact with you. Usually, cats will do this, and might just growl or hiss to show that they do not lie this. So mad cats will not purr and happy ones will. They purr of their own free will, and have a choice to do so. If you have ever seen a cat roaming around or going somewhere and purring? This is because the cat is happy. Maybe they had some treats, or maybe they just had a good nap. How many mad cats do you see purring? None, that's right. Because cats only purr when they are content and happy. Or sometimes, a cat might be happy and not purr. This also happens. All in all, a cat's purring is voluntary.
