That is the beauty of evolution & mother nature.she giveth what's required for survival.if u observe carefully the predators like lion, tiger have eyes in the front to help them see their pray which enhances their hunting& whereas the prey like a deer or a zebra has their eyes at the side so that they can watchout their predators attacking from their back.that had come in an evolution process.so always admire the creativity & wonders of nature. :)
It gives a wider field of vision, essential for survival of prey.
Any animal considered 'prey' has eyes on the sides of thier heads. Deer, birds, etc, so it is easier for them to see predators.
because its a predator, all predators have their eyes at the front of their heads, as apposed to animals such as deer, rabbits, mice etc, were their eyes are situated at the sides of there heads so to be aware of their surroundings and alert against predators.
Their eyes are far apart on the sides of their heads.
Lions are predators. Typically predatory animal have their eyes set in the fronts of their heads, letting them focus on their prey. Animals who survive by escaping predators, typically have their eyes on the sides of their heads, more nearly giving them 360 degree vision.
a Say a deer there eyes are on the side as they are normally caught be foxes and foxes's eyes are on the sideSo basically we are predators
Sheep's eyes are located on the sides of their heads. They are located up near the ears on other side of the head.

Prey eyes are on the sides of their heads.
well first of all the question is wrong!! lions dont have eyes on the sides of their heads they have it in the front!!
Their eyes are far apart on the sides of their heads.
Deer only have 2 eyes, and if you are reffering to the postioning of the eyes, deer are able to see anything behind, to the sides, and in front of them, allowing them to see predators.
So as to better see predators sneaking up on them.
Deer are very attuned to motion but they do not have good visual accuity because their eyes lack foveas (no sharp, central vision). Their pupils are horizontally wide and their eyes are on the sides of their heads which provides nearly 360-degree visual range. They have no color vision but they can detect blaze orange on hunters because it is more reflective than the background.
A bicephalous deer.
They have their eyes on the sides of their heads, unlike we humans, who have our pointing forwards. As a typical prey animal, a rabbits eye position helps it to see all around without having to move. It can stay alert and watch its entire surroundings, without potentially giving its position to predators.
T-rexes had eyes on sides of their heads so they could notice if someone is sneaking up on them, and to be able to protect their waluable sides.
