AnswerYes, chocolate is to dogs as eating toadstools is to humans. Most dogs are resilient to poisoning, however. Their digestive systems are a lot more resistant to toxins than felines and they can purge the chocolate before most of the toxin enters their bloodstream. If a cat eats chocolate, the poor thing's done for. Their digestive system is a lot less resistant and inducing vomiting will do little. AnswerWell, the chocolate thing yes. Chocolate is not good for dogs or kittys! AnswerThey should not eat too much human food! Answeryes extremely!! AnswerSome people food once and a while doesn't generally hurt a dog as long as it is the right stuff, such as lean cooked meats.

Chocolate is a definite no-no. My dog has gotten a hold of a piece in the past and had no problem. However, my friends dog got a piece and it gave him seizures. Not all dogs have a reaction to it, but its one of those things you just don't want to take a chance on.

Higher fat foods can cause problems as well. On top of weight issues and stomach upset, a diet high in fats can potentially give a dog pancreatic problems.

Also, don't give your dog foods that are starting to spoil and you wouldn't eat yourself. They are capable of getting food poisoning just like a person.

There are also other foods that can be toxic to your dog. Grapes can cause kidney shutdown, foods high in salt can throw off electrolytes, and sugary foods can eventually lead to doggie Diabetes.
