to keep away from the sun as they must stay moisturised
Quite easily actually... Its a misconception that frogs burrow deep in the mud, since they would suffocate to death. Frogs burrow just below the mud at the bottom of lakes. Their breathing and heartbeat not only slow down to nil, but their skin can actually absorb oxygen. Not only that, but their bodies contain a form of biochemical antifreeze that prevents the frog from dying. Once weather conditions become favorable, they simply thaw out!!ectothermic
Frogs lower their temperature in the winter and often burrow into mud. They move very little and have oxygen that is dissolved in water.

You don't believe it, go look at frog remains!

well like most animals frogs hibernate during the winter. most species hide under rocks and mud or burrow under the ground. when looking for them think like a frog, where would i go in the winter? though looking for frogs in the winter is much harder than the spring and summer. and is extremely rare to see them unless you REALLY LOOK.
Tennessee Mud Frogs was created in 2006.

There must have been eggs previously laid first, with some frogs being there prior. I don't believe science recognizes that frogs can grow from mud, impossible.

Neither. The platypus's burrow is dry earth, dry soil. They do not burrow in sand as it will not support the tunnel. Neither do they dig in mud. Their burrow is dug above the waterline of a creek or river, and remains dry inside.
