Gorillas that eat their own feces do so because of high stress levels due to the captivity lifestyle. Gorillas eating their own feces are ONLY seen in captivity, this behavior is NOT and has NEVER been seen in the wild.

Above statement is WRONG. Gorillas and other primates eat their poop because of coprophagy. Like rabbits and other rodents, they eat their poop to absorb as much of the nutrient from it as they can. Only dogs and other animals do it out of boredom and misbehavior. *I'm in a class where we discuss this. You can even look it up on wikipedia. Just type in "gorillas eat poop".

we went to a zoo and the gorilla we were ob serving was throwing up his food into his hand and then eating it. He did this several times with the same thing he just threw up and re ate.

Animals in cages do many strange things out of sheer boredom.
