My rabbit did that frequently. It doesn't mean anything bad, infact it's a good thing. When your rabbit does that, it helps to grind down their teeth so the bottom teeth don't curl up in the the roof of their mouth. It doesn't mean they want out or anything, although that's not a bad thing to let them get excersise. Don't stop your rabbit from doing that but I would suggest buying it wood sticks to chew on.
It could mean several things. The most common would be that your pig needs to wear down his teeth and there isn't anything for him to chew on. My suggestion is to give him some wood toys, branches etc (that are positively non toxic) to help him. Another reason could be boredom, the toys will also help with that.
No, not if the bars are metal. Sometimes it may sound like it. These animals will need wood toys to chew on. Their teeth will keep growing and they need to chew on hard objects to keep their teeth worn down.
I have never heard of any animal eating metal so no it shouldn't
No but will bite a cage or "eat" the wood, make a hole and escape! Hamsters will "cheek up" dried melon seeds and deposit them in a corner of the cage without eating them. Purina whatever food is best.
Guinea pigs are more likely to bite themselves if they have mites or a skin condition that is causing them irritation. Guinea pigs can be washed very gently, regularly, to avoid this being a problem. Get a shampoo that is specially made for pets and dilute it really weakly in a bowl of warm water. Use a soft cloth to gently wipe your guinea pig all over. This should stop the biting after awhile.
Well there are a couple of reasons.. the most common is that your Guinea Pig is trying to shorten his / her teeth ,for this id buy a wooden toy, try not use branches as the wood gets stuck in there teeth and throat. Although it could be bordem.. to resole bordem you could play with them (stroke them)or buy them more toys
Because their teeth never stop growing. You need to put in the cage some wooden toys for the pig to chew on to wear its teeth down.
Its probably because you dont trim them enough. If you trim them once a month and they still bite their nails then they dont have anything to chew on in their cage.
It depends on what you can afford to keep. I have both. rabbits bite alot guinea pigs don't its rare to guinea pigs bite i don't hold my rabbit ALOT because it keeps on biting me all rabbits bite my guinea pig ''oh'' he does not bite i hold him all the time when rabbits are angry the strach very hard and bite guinea pigs only chatter there teeth
Although guinea pigs can bite...it's just a little nibble though! guinea pigs love to get attention and play with kids! A guinea pig would be a children friendly pet!! Hope i helped, Have any questions?Just message me!
Peruvians cook guinea pigs. Guinea pigs are native there and they are called Cuy.
Male Guinea Pigs are called Boars, female Guinea Pigs are called Sows, and babby Guinea Pigs are called Pups. A group of Guinea Pigs is called a Herd. :)
They are very clean. But if you are going to have one you will still need to clean there cage. But the guinea pig will clean themselves I believe. I already know that guinea pigs are the cleanest rodent. After the guinea pig is the rat.
Guinea Pigs do not bite people unless they're threatened.
no, not all guinea pigs, Actually they are known to be not very "bitey", they usually only bite when scared and frightened.
A guinea pig does not bite it owns hands. Like other animals it cleans itself. You can see this in healthy guinea pigs. Young guinea pigs, who has been taken from their mother too soon, does not always learn how to clean themselves. Overweight guinea pigs can have a problem doing it, as well as those with very long nails. Some guinea pigs also keep their nails short white cleansing, by biting their nails.
Guinea pigs wobble because they are bored and are trying to entertain themselves.
All guinea pigs can bite, at any age. If you socalize your guinea pig and treat him well, chances are he will choose not to bite.
