I think pet rabbits die so easily for a number of reasons:

1) they do not get sufficient food. Rabbits need a certain diet of food, including salt tablets and herbs in order to live

2) cage. Since when do rabbits want to be stuffed in a cage? Give them a pen to run around in to stretch their muscles

3.) companionship. Rabbis will feel depressed if they do not have a companion to talk to

4.) Inconvenient weather. if you constantly change the environment your pet is living in, and he/she is subject to the harsh weather conditions, it will get sick and die.

BUT THE MOST IMPORTANT THING IS SANITATION. If you do not clean your pet's cage out and bring him/her to vet, it will pass on quicker. Just be clean and healthy with your bunny. And read a book on caring for bunnies before you get one. You don't want you rabbit to be unhealthy, depressed, sick and lonely.

Do pygmy rabbits live in groups?

sagebrush! :DThe wild Pygmy Rabbit (Brachylagus idahoensis species) eats sagebrush and other grasses and forbs. See the Wikipedia link below for more info.Small pet rabbits are called "dwarf," not "pygmy," but in case this question meant pet rabbits: Small pet rabbits eat the same diet as all pet rabbits: lots of hay, some pellets, some fresh leafy greens, and plenty of water. See the related question below for more details and links.

Do pet cats eat pet rabbits?

No. Cats don't normally eat pet rabbits. However, cats will often kill baby rabbits (about the size of mice when they are first born).Other Perspectives:My cat is scared of a hamster and i think he is scared of a rabbit too. Many, not all, cats will kill and eat wild or pet rabbits. All adult cats are capable, but some are restrained by their upbringing. Most will take, and eat, babies or juveniles, and experienced cats will take, and eat, fully grown rabbits.

Do white rabbits live in a safari?

There is more than one species of white rabbit. There are wild white rabbits, and there are pet white rabbits -- these different rabbits live in different places and lead different lives! But, in general: Wild rabbits live underground so they're protected from most predators (although weasels can still get them underground). When rabbits see a predator, they run for their burrows. Every day, though, rabbits must go above ground to eat and exercise, so they're never fully safe from predators. Pet rabbits must be protected from predators. Pet rabbits have been removed from their natural situation: now we humans are responsible for them. Pet rabbits kept in unsafe cages outside are much worse off than wild rabbits, and they have no where to run to: it isn't fair to them, not to protect them. See the related question below about rabbit cages for details and helpful links. The easiest way to protect pet rabbits from predators is by bringing them inside. You can also put work into the outdoor cage/hutch, to make sure predators can't get in. However, it's not just about keeping the predator out: a predator stalking around outside the hutch can frighten a rabbit to death, if it has nowhere to hide.

Does a dwarf bunny require special care?

Dwarf rabbits require the same care as pet rabbits. All pet rabbits require special care because they're so different from cats and dogs, and they have very unique needs. But dwarfs aren't any different from other rabbits: they require the same kinds of care. See the related question below for details. Anything you read about pet rabbits applies to dwarfs as well.

Are bunnies tickelish?

Should you bath giant flemish rabbits?

Getting rabbits wet is probably not good for their health. Wash their feet if they get urine stains on them or so forth but they can chill easily, I highly do not recommend bathing rabbits!!!
