Part of the rabbit's design is geared towards detecting and escaping predators. Even your domestic bunny will still act like a prey animal.

Even when rabbits are sleeping they must constantly be monitoring their environment for danger, hence the constant nose movement. As they wiggle their nose and pull in air they also part the split in the upper lip to moisturize the air and improve the ability to pick up scents.

When a bunny is very scared, excited or interested in something its nose will often wiggle faster. (to take in more scents) When a bunny is completely relaxed, it will sometimes stop moving its nose completely.

Rabbits' noses twitch so they can take in scents because they are prey animals. Rabbit noses twitch more when they are scared, and picking them up usually scares them.

Why do dogs noses get wet all the time?

It is a sign that they are healthy. I am pretty sure they lick their noses when they are well, and when they are sick, they will not. So don't worry if your dog's nose is wet- it's a good thing!
