Rabbits, sheep and cows are herbivores and prey for carnivores like wolves, foxes and the great cats. Therefore, they have evolved to have one eye on each side of their head for the most peripheral vision possible - they can see about 300 degrees around them, reducing the ways a predator can sneak up on them without being seen.
