If the hen has eggs, she is trying to protect them.
There is nothing wrong with the hen. When a hen does this she is trying to sit on eggs to hatch them. These are called broody hens.
More than likely to keep an egg warm.
Yes, It does not always work but if you move both the nest, the eggs and the hen, she will often stay with the nest. It is best to do this in the late evening when the hens have all settled in for the night.
A broody hen is sometimes hard to persuade to leave her nest. You need to remove all eggs she collects and move her away from the nest. Deny her access to that nest for more than a few hours and she often will go about her normal daily activities. You may have to repeat this daily for a few days.
Try and find their nest and then take a special spray and spray all of the nest
You should NEVER touch a bird's nest, because the nest has bird scent all over it and if a human hand or human scent comes in contact with it, the birds will sense that and never return to the nest even if the eggs or babies are in it.
No, a hornets nest is not worth any money at all. You can decorate the nest and use it as a decoration.
Yes, because when your near the nest, the mother will flies away, but while she's flying away, she's watching the nest. The mother is usually near the nest at all times.
You're not supposed to move it at all and there are laws against disturbing a nest. If you move it even a little, you risk the bird abandoning the nest. It's usually best to "work around" the situation by placing cones or barriers around the nest until it hatches and the family leaves. However, there have been cases where the nest had to be moved or it would be definitely destroyed. In these cases, the nest was moved, very carefully and gradually only as far as it was necessary to keep it out of danger. All nesting rocks and other material were also moved and placed exactly as the parent had set them up. Also, lighting conditions were similar. If there are chicks in or near the nest, you can't move it no matter what the circumstance is.
Hopefully, sometimes first time does will not make a nest and sometimes they will make a nest but not have babies (psuedo pregnancy).

Legally the only way you can move a sparrow nest is if it is a house sparrow nest. These are not native to the US and are considered an invasive species. If it is not a house sparrow no you can't move it. The Migratory Bird Treaty Act makes it illegal. See the related link below for more information.
