I've heard my cat make "barking" noises when he is unable to obtain something. I think it is a sign of frustration for them. My cat will make the noise while following a laser pointer around the room or if there is a window blocking him from a bird or squirrel outside of his reach. It is the same reason why we as humans swear or grunt when we are frustrated. Hope this helps.

Purebred dingoes do not bark; only those that are the product of interbreeding with wild or domestic dogs make any type of barking sound.

Dog whistles emit high-frequency sounds that are not easily heard by humans but can be heard by dogs. By using a dog whistle to make a specific sound when a dog barks, the dog can be trained to associate that sound with a command to stop barking. Over time, the dog will learn to stop barking when it hears the sound of the whistle, helping to control excessive barking behavior.
