My dog is an Australian Shepherd. She is 1 year old. She always makes these whining sounds and looks at us like, "Meeerruuuuuuooooeeu." One reason she is doing this is because she notices how us humans communicate and respond to each other, and she wants to tell us something. When she stretches, she says, "Mrouuueeeeee..." The pitch gets high at the end, as it does when she yawns. This means she is tired! When she has an itch, she says, "Eu! Eu! Euuue! Eu!" And she starts scratching. Don't worry if your dog is talking! It's normal.
