It seems as though that as you look at smaller birds, their heart rate is higher than larger birds. This would lead you to believe that birds' hearts beat so fast because their small size. To keep up with it's surroundings, as well as simply to fly, the bird has to put out an immense amount of energy and oxygen. These is made up by the heart, which has to beat super fast to compensate.
Hummingbirds flap there wings so fast because they just do. Moriah
Soft, downy feathers keep birds' bodies toasty and warm. At the same time, the waxy outer ones keep off the rain. More importantly, feathers allow birds to fly. Birds beat their feathered wings to lift off the ground and fly through the air.
the mother finds a mate and after they take care of their business, a few or so weeks later the mother lays eggs which will, in a couple of weeks and mom's care, will hatch into baby ducklings
Birds as a Specie have compared to humans incredibly fast reflexes. So as it appears two are going to collide they actually know perfectly well of what is happening and have plenty of time to turn away from each other :)

a rat's heart beat is almost fast enough so you can't tell one from the other. veeeeeeeery fast.
because you are going so fast
It beats fast because your body needs to have blood 24/7 so it pumps so fast to keep your body warm, healthy, and alive
Yes. As your body rests it has less demand for oxygen and so the heart does not need to pump so fast. Your heart beat is slowest when you are asleep. On the other hand when you are running in a race or performing some other vigorous exersice then you heart will beat faster.
humming birds fly so fast because they are so fast
I'm going to pretend that it way a mistake putting this question in the category of 'Elephants'. Basically, many things make your heart beat fast. Mainly physical or emotional strain. That means that if you something makes you afraid or excited it means that the rate at which your heart is pumping blood around your body can increase. So to be fair, if that person makes you feel afraid when that swear at you, which is a natural response for most, your heart will probably 'beat fast'. Or if them swearing excites you, or makes you angry, that could make your heart beat faster also. It really depends on how you are. I hope i wasn't wasting my time and i hope that helped.
