I've had lots of dogs, some loved the sun and others didn't. The solid white dog didn't like the sun much, she'd lay in it for no more than five minutes and then that's all she wanted. Then I had a beagle that you couldn't get out of the sun. She would be panting with the heat and still not leave the sun. I think it feels good, just like it does for us. I think it feels good to them in the same way, in their joints and muscles, behind their eyes it is relaxing. I've thought about it while watching them. They look so happy while sunning themselves.
