An extra toenail on dogs and cats is called a dewclaw. Whether they exist, how many, and which type they are varies by the exact breed. It could be that they exist for helping to hold prey, hold bones, or gain traction on certain surfaces. They serve little purpose in domesticated animals.
Whether dewclaws should be removed depends on the type of dewclaw, the role of the pet, and the breed of the animal. If the dewclaws are of the soft variety which are not connected to bone, they don't touch the ground when running, or the pet is more likely to be used for work, then they are more likely to be candidates for removal. Bony dewclaws should generally not be removed unless there is a medical reason, since they are actual toes and would result in considerable pain and a surgery that is more difficult to perform when compared to removing the soft dewclaws. However, repeated injuries might justify removal, and serious infection or gangrene would be a definite justification.
That's called a dew claw. Some vets think they should be removed and others are against it. I think it's a personal choice.
Some say that this is rare stating 1 out of 100 pup have a 5th toe. Every liter my dog has had, 4 out of 5 have a 5th toe. Some do recommend removal of this toe saying it can cause problem and you can remove it with a toenail clipper when they are new born. Only one of my pups 5th toe seems as thou this is possible because I don't feel a bone inside of the skin, just a nail at the tip, but in the case of the rest of my pups it appears their 5th toe is a permanent toe with a fully developed bone and I feel that removing the toe would be cruel.
The 5th toe does not seem to bother them one bit and in my opinion it makes them look very handsome and unique.
Your kitten is the result of inbreeding.
She is most likely a Polydactyl.
Exclusive of genetic abnormalities and birth defects, the Lundehund, found living solely on islands of Vaerog and Rost in northern Norway, has six toes on each of its four paws.
Typically a cat will have five toes, four on the front of the foot and one up towards the heel. Each toe has a claw, but only the four at the front of the foot also have hairless "pads". The central pad on a cat's foot is not a toe but what would be the ball of a human's foot. Polydactyl cats--having six toes--became famous when Hemingway adopted one. Many "barn" cats are this type of cat.
Six toes, six fingers. A two-toed sloth has six toes, four fingers. It has three toes and three fingers
It is not uncommon for some cats to have extra toes on the front or back feet. It is said that a cat with these extra toes are good luck.
The breed of dog most likely to be able to do this, depending on the wall, is the Norwegian Lundehund. This breed was developed to search for puffin eggs on steep, rocky cliffs. These dogs have six toes on their paws, which enable them to get a good purchase on slippery surfaces.
A bear can range in toe amount. Most bears have 4 in the front and 5 in the back. 35% of bears born have toe loss too many toes Bears have five toes on each foot.

Four. Most members of the order Carnivora have four toes on their hind feet and five (including dewclaws) on their front feet. There are "polydactyl" individuals with extra toes, and at least one breed of dog, the Norwegian Lundehund, has six toes on each foot.
24 paws :)

I do not believe that's possible however the Pyrenees dog has 6 toes on its back legs on their feet (normal 5 toes on front feet).
Dogs have seven bones in their front paws and six bones in their rear paws. A dog's wrist bone is called a carpus. The bone below the carpus is called a metacarpus and each toe is called a phalange. Dogs have five phalanges in their front paws but only four phalanges in their rear paws. Dew claws are not considered phalanges.
No, not all calico cats have six toes
