it depends on where its scratching it
it probably needs to get its shots and yeah also where it is SCRATCHING!!!!LOL Well if the itching is frantic then it probably has lice, take it to a vet to have it treated.
If two guinea pigs were hybrid for texture and produced eight offspring, and six of the offspring had rough fur, the fraction of offspring with rough fur would be 6/8, which simplifies to 3/4. So, three-fourths of the offspring had rough fur.
A silky hamster is just a hamster with shiny fur. Its exactly the smae as any other normal sized hamster. A silky hamster is just a hamster with shiny fur. Its exactly the smae as any other normal sized hamster.
If a hamster is bald or is losing its fur, it may be rubbing up against something which is causing it to lose fur. Your hamster may be old enough to be losing fur. I have a hamster who is nearly 4 and isn't bald, but i also have a hamster who is nearly 2 and is half bald. She has been confirmed for mites and is being treated with antibiotics. If your hamster might have mites, i would suggest going to a vet. If you haven't cleaned out your hamster in a while do that, and it might grow back. I cleaned my hamster out and it grew back for a while, then went again so i changed her cage with a bigger one, but she was still bald. our hamster might even be stressed so place him/her in a quiet place and place a house inside the cage so she/he can retreat there when stressed. Try and calm him/her hold him/her and talk to them so they know you are there. Hope i helped. [: And good Luck.
It's pretty much fur, so it feels very soft.
Hamsters shouldn't be washed under water unless of an emergency. If you have a dwarf hamster, it might like a dust bath to freshen its fur. Otherwise, only wash hamster if it absolutely needs to be washed. (For Example: gum stuck in its fur)If you must wash the hamster, wash it in warm water and dry it immediately with a hand towel. It can easily die from hypothermia if it is wet.
What if your hamster has mange
Yes, hamsters do have fur.
yes
a hamster that can change its fur colour
it is normal for your teddy bear hamster to lose fur. it just a sign of old age. and it is also ok for your hamster to change fur color also.
yes, it is. They were originally evovled to live in the wild, so they had fur every where. Plus, if the temperature in the room your hamster is in seems to change with the seasons, it's really likely that your hamster's fur will get thinner and thicker as the time of year changes. Don't be worried, cause it's completely natural!
Your hamster may have mange. It's transmittable to humans, so be careful. The symptoms would be: scratching loosing fur white specks in fur (possibly) Also, to treat it, you'd want to go to a vet. They can give your hamster a shot for mange. or Hamsters lose hear in the summer and it is more noticeable in very furry hamsters though as a hamster breeder i do suggest you go to the vets if the hamster is still malting for more then 2 months. or It could be that something is irritating the hamster so it is biting its fur out to try and get rid of the irritating thing. It may be the hay or shavings you really need to observe the cage.
you wash it.
