Why is your hamster wheezing?

THis is what happens, when a boy and a girl hamster meet for lunch. The boy usually wants to pay, but then the girl doesn't want to feel like a freeloader. So they have a fight and who ever wins gets to choose who pays. So that's the birds and the bees talk in hamster form.

I'm going to guess that you're able to tell if it's dead or not at a glance. If it's not dead then it may just be "spacing out". I know that doesn't sound very scientific but it's just "something they do" every so often. They will go completely catatonic and not respond to poking, prodding, or loud noises. A few seconds to a minute later, they'll just spring awake again. It's one of the great mysteries of hamster ownership.

It is possible that it may have had a seizure, or if it's an older hamster, it may have had a stroke, but those are usually accompanied by strange behaviors afterward like stumbling, paralysis on one side, walking with their head cocked to one side or the other, etc. The more likely answer is that he's just spacing out and there's nothing to worry about. I think its sneezing not weezing. all of my 4 hamsters do it so i think its a natural hamster thing. ive never had any hamster breathing problems. but if you see that their tail is wet you HAVE to bring it to a doctor or its gonna die.(wet tail)

if your hamster is having trouble breathing or is sneezing, take your hamster to the vet. Your vet should know what to do

it may be dead
