it depends on there breed and personalities. most hammster breeds like to live in fammily groups, but others (rarely tho) try to run away or try to kill the others put in or neer there teritory. but, if U get one when its young, you can change its pursonality to liking and disliking different things or hamsters/animals. so, some like being alone, but others (most) STILL don't like hammsters they don't know neer them, but love having there family around. the best thing U can do to figure out what your hamster likes best is to visit the store that U got it from ( if U didnt get it from a store, i don't know what to say).
Yes, Syrian Hamsters need to live on their own as if kept together they will fight, sometimes to death. The other hamsters, Dwarf Hamsters, are happier in groups but can be solitary. However, some individuals may be happier on their own.
Syrian Hamsters need to be alone. They are extremely territorial and would fight another hamster.
.
Dwarf Hamsters can be alone, or be with another Dwarf Hamster of the same sex and breed. They enjoy company, but it isn't necessary.
If the hamsters begin fighting, they must be separated. If they are getting along well and then you separate them then they can become depressed.
Your hamster will never be out and will make skueaking noises. Also will refuse to eat and drink.
They can't survive a week alone without YOUR help. You need to take care of a hamster if you have one.
It might but its for his/her own good they will fightinstead of play that happened to my hammy once

Some hamsters find it extremely interesting to see itself in a mirror. Some hamsters do think it is another hamster they are seeing, but get confused on how to reach them. Or your hamster may just like the edges and want to eat it.
Hamsters are hunted by birds, dogs, cats, (can be killed bye another hamster), ect. but really, dont feed your hamster to any of those and don't take chances and try it to see what happens! That would be cruel.
Take him to the vet!
You need to take your hamster to see a vet. He or she may have broken a bone or more than one. For now, don't take your hamster out of his or her cage as this may cause him or her more pain
it squeals and if you look into the eyes you will see fear into the eyes
Unless the dwarf hamster was in the same litter, I would advise against it. If they are not in the same litter, and you'd like to see if they get along, first put them in a neutral cage. Otherwise the hamster may feel that another male is trying to take over its territory.

Lonely is an adjective or describing word. Therefore, it doesn't have a plural. See examples; I am lonely You are lonely They are lonely The plural (they) doesn't require a variation on the word lonely.

You will see little pink furless creatures underneath your hamster.

If you see the hamster looking and nibbling for a place to get out, then they want to get out. I found this answer because my own hamster escaped. 
