If the sub-dominate decides to yes, it will attack the dominate rooster for rank. It is not usually a good idea to have more then one rooster in an area where they have the oppertunity to fight each other. They can become more aggressive towards the owners and even towads any hens that are around. This does not mean that they will 100% sure fight. It all depends on idividuals.
I know of only one health problem that would cause an other wise healthy rooster to immediately fall over on their back dead. It happens to broiler meat chickens, it is a heart attack. No fooling.
Roosters can easily get into their teens and even into their 20's, if they are not killed first. Most roosters may live around 5-20 years. That's right in fact, it is known that roosters live slightly longer than hens. Like my rooster who lived 10 years while my hens only lived 7.
If it is the feathers around the head it is called flaring(this means he wants to attack). If the whole chicken puffs up or drags one or both wing on the ground it is called strutting(this means he wants to mate, but be warned it can also mean he wants to attack).
No, nor would they be inclined to attack a human. Chickens in general are docile and even when you get the occasional rowdy rooster kicking at your ankles, you'd have to be quite fragile for it even to bruise you.
Always check where the horse fly come from when attack
If your rooster is mean enough he may attack them over food.
You will need to observe the interaction among the flock. A very aggressive rooster (especially a young one) can kill a hen during his mating attempts. It is not always the rooster who kills the hens, other hens within the flock will attack a hen who is in poor condition, once blood is drawn the injured hen is subject to attack by the whole flock. One way to determine if the rooster is the culprit, is to separate the rooster from the flock for a period of time and see if any more deaths occur.

That is the roosters job. He is the guardian of his flock and he will attack anything he perceives as a threat to his flock. Children are often targets for rooster attacks as they move in what the rooster sees as a threatening manner approaching the hens and often very animated while doing so. Kids tend to run and cry when attacked by a rooster which make the rooster more excited and powerful feeling.
