Male lizards are typically called "males," female lizards are called "females," and baby lizards are commonly referred to as "hatchlings" or "juveniles."
Baby lizards can often move on land more effectively than baby snakes, using their legs for crawling or running. They also typically have eyelids, allowing them to blink and close their eyes, a feature not present in most baby snakes. Additionally, baby lizards may be able to change color to blend into their surroundings, while baby snakes generally have more limited color variations.
Western fence lizards love ants, and also will eat small crickets. If its a baby, get pinhead crickets. Do not feed it any food longer than the space between its eyes, or it could become impacted and die.
Some lizards, like certain species of snakes, may eat baby lizards as a source of food because it provides them with necessary nutrients and energy for survival. This behavior is a part of their natural predatory instincts and helps regulate population levels within the ecosystem. Additionally, competition for resources may also drive some lizards to consume offspring.
When I got my baby bearded dragons they told me to use regular tap water but to add a couple drops of water conditioner to it. You can find it in the reptile section in a blue bottle. It takes the chemicals out of the water for the lizards.
Most lizards tend to eat smaller lizards, even their own species and young. This is especially true with lizards in captivity. They will go after anything moving that will fit in their mouth. The exceptions to this are remote, such as a mother croc protecting its young until they go off on their own - though other crocs will not hesitate to snatch them up.
