You have two hamsters a boy and girl but they dont live with each other and the boy lives with his sister in a different cage what do you do because everytime you try too mate the hamsters all they do?

it takes time you have to put the boy in the same cage as the girl wait about a week or 2 so they can get used to each other and the boy can get used to the cage then they will mate and it should be fine x

They don't neccesarily like the taste of each other. Hamsters are very territorial of their space, and don't like it when other hamsters get in their way. Therefore, they fight and don't stop unless a human intervenes or they kill each other..because they dont want the other hamster to die from one of it's predadors so it rather eat the hamsteror because it is a battle of the fittest

Yes, they do fight. Me and my sister had two female guinea pigs in the same cage, and had to separate them because they constantly fought. The more energetic one would always jump and bug the other one, and she would always whine and cry. If you have two female guinea pigs, its a good idea to separate them!if you put them together when their babies and they grow up together they will not fight. My sister had two hamsters,cinderella and pixie, and they did'nt fight until ine had a baby and killed each other.

How can I permanantly mark my hamster so that I can tell him apart from my sister's hamster?
I not too sure a permanent marker is required. If you look at the two hamsters you might find a small mark that is different between the two - colour of eyes or ear length. I can't believe they are identical in every way. If you still can't find any distinguishing marks, the best solution is to ask you Mum for some food colouring - a colour that will stand out against your hamsters natural colour. Possibly green or red. Add a small drop to it's back and you should be in hamster identification mode. It's not permanent but will last a while and may leave enough of a mark for you to identify it for a while.
