I would sure hope you didn't second guess that thought. When small animals, such as guinea pigs, become sick they need medical attention asap. They aren't like humans and have large insides, they're very small and could die very easily.

if a guinea pig has a respiratory problem they will have crustys on their nose and beneath their eyes.they will have trouble breathing and will be very tired.take your pig to the vet if you see these symptoms it is very serious.

It means that the guinea pig is scared or it doesn't get enough water when its twitching its kinda like when a dog growls but they wont bite you or they should not well when it wimpers its trying to communicate with you or if you have other guinea pigs...-SycoBob

You can quietly watch your guinea pig while she is in labor to make sure nothing bad happens, like trouble taking of the "sac" of the face or elongated time of birthing and ONLY intervene at that time. Your guinea pig should not have any problems birthing though.- mother of pregnant guinea pig
