I'd run a compression test, you could have a sticking or burned valve. Also, if that doesn't show any problems, check the timing and the ignition advance.
When you pulled the plugs were any of them fouled or did any look different? The insulators should all be light tan in color, not bright white and not black. Plugs give you a lot of valuable information when you change them.
White plugs mean that a cylinder is running too lean, it can result in burned valves or a damaged piston.
Black plugs indicate either a rich burn condition, oil fouling or possibly a weak spark.
Wet plugs indicate extreme oil fouling or possibly flooding.
A compression test is valuable, especially when performing a tune-up on an older engine. The Chev truck engines of that era were incredibly tough and have a good record of reliability, but bad things can happen. Don't forget to mark the plug wires.
time for a new calitic converter its befor the muffler on the exhaust system
HI, you will find the EGR valve connected to the back of the throttle body i am currently removing SC off my 1989 ford Thunderbird SC for cleaning the intake system . plus the EGR tube that goes to the exhaust was disconnected and well i have poor idle, vehicle running very rich on fuel, and when going fast vehicle bogs down like if it was missing fuel... suspecting the MAF is bad to, you will have to remove the supercharger, intake and exhaust inter cooler air tubes and throttle body there is two bolts to the EGR valve. GOOD luck.
no. you have govoner? probly is missing the spring which opens the throttle the return sping is the one spring you can see. the wide open throttle spring is in the 3 bolt cover on the side of carburetor no. you have govoner? probly is missing the spring which opens the throttle the return sping is the one spring you can see. the wide open throttle spring is in the 3 bolt cover on the side of carburetor
No thats something else you should probably go to a garage to sort out if you can smell gas !
Fuel delivery problems. Spark/ignition issues. Vacuum leaks. Exhaust restrictions (bad cat).
sluggish, bad idil, eratic shaking or missing, stalls out at stops, not getting any gas to throttle body
Not sure what "suck a valve" means, but running an engine with no exhaust could easily cause the exhaust valves to get hot enough to melt. Exhaust valves get very hot and if you just shut off the engine with no exhaust manifold in place the cold air can cause an exhaust valve to warp, then, next time you run the engine it will not seat properly. Many people don't understand and assume that if ANY part of the exhaust system is missing you can warp a valve but that fear is just the result of failing to understand the root cause of the problem. On the other hand, a lean burning engine can overheat the valves to the point that the metal can become soft.
Either a heat shield is missing or some exhaust part is too close to a steering component. You need to have this looked into immediately.
that could be caused by ur spark plugs missing or something like that i would check ur spark plugs and if not that idk.
Some of the trouble codes areÊP0100:ECM-6400 signal too low,or signal missing (Intake camshaft). P0011:ECM-640A Faulty Signal,P0013:ECM-6410 signal too low or signal missing (exhaust camshaft),P0201: ECM-2310 Signal Missing (Injector 1).
Either you're stepping on the gas or your missing a cylinder or your timing is slightly off or the gauge is defective. Take it to your mechanic and have him look at it. Could be a defective TPS (Throttle Position Sensor).
Have a good tune up including a fuel filter, injector cleaner plugs and wires with a throtle body cleaning..
